Job Title: Project Coordinator (Entry Level)
Job Location: Forest Lake, MN
Position Purpose:
To provide support and assistance to the Project Supervision in the areas of safety management, planning, scheduling, cost monitoring, cost reporting, customer reporting, performance tracking, budgeting, estimating, change orders, billing, estimating, subcontractor management, change order management and bid development for electrical utility construction projects throughout the state of Minnesota.
Responsibilities:
Support the day-to-day oversight, management and administration of the company's safety management system
Assist with the development of common systems and processes to provide for proper accounting, reporting of project costs, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, record keeping, documentation and budgeting
Assist with the development and tracking of key performance and financial metrics that will optimize performance, productivity and reduce costs
Assist in the preparation of proposals and estimates, including drawing take-offs
Work with Project Supervision to set up job structure from beginning i.e. safety, scheduling, document control plan, cost codes, job cost spread, material/tooling plan, billing, etc.
Assist in job hand off from estimating to field project supervision
Work with Project Supervision to set up and attend Local Union Business Manager meeting and applicable trades meetings
Work with Project Supervision on schedule, layout, envelope system, etc.
Work with purchasing on material orders and required submittals
Travel to project(s) once a regular basis
Provide weekly updates on project to senior management
Quote change orders from drawing changes, RFI's, etc.
Work with division controller to put together monthly financial bridge, job forecasts and write up monthly report
Work with customer and field management on schedule development and assist in maintaining during course of project
Ensure the project has adequate resources to maintain schedule, budget and exceed safety expectations
Ensure all paperwork such as Daily Job Journals, RFI's, Restraints, Timesheets, Extra Work Reports, Purchase Orders, Packing Slips, Tool Reports, etc. are properly maintained and routed
Interact with customer on project with positive long term relationship in mind
Ensure billing is timely submitted along with payment follow through
Overall be a support mechanism for the Project Supervision and staff
Be willing to take on very challenging and multiple projects and dedicate the time and efforts to ensure a safe, profitable and end the project with a very satisfied customer
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs
Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Extensive computer skills including familiarity with Primavera- P3, Access, Excel
Education:
BS/BA in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, IT or related field
Experience:
1-3 years of Project Management, Engineering, IT, Construction Management or related experience in drilled pier foundations
